Fragmentation

Ok, this is going to be a love/hate topic. Many people hate that android is so fragmented and I can completely agree with them. It sucks that some devices are still running Gingerbread and older OS's when ICS has been out for about a year. Then Google comes out with Jellybean and the soon to be released Key lime pie to sweeten the pot even more. The one thing I have noticed is that many people complain about the fact that their device hasn't been updated and they don't even know what said update may do. A friend of mine was using a Droid X and he was saying how it sucked that it didn't receive ICS. I asked him if he knew the overall difference between ICS and Gingerbread and he had no idea. I've come to find out that most people complain about these updates and the fact that carriers are so slow rolling them out and they have no idea what they actually do. If you want to the latest and greatest just root your device. If you don't know how then ask Google. Lol. It really isn't that hard. And even though Android may be fragmented I love it. You can actually see where it has come from and the progress that it's made which is pretty awesome. It really made a huge leap with ICS. Unlike IOS which really hasn't changed at all in the last five years. Now if you love IOS I have no problem with that. To each his own. A stale OS just isn't my cup of tea.And do some research people before you drop some coin on a device. You can't complain that a device isn't on the latest OS or isn't what you thought it would be if you take a moment and actually read. And so ends another random thought. Thank you and goodnight..........
